Sweden - Göteborgs Stad SDF Askim-Frölunda-Högsbo 

 

Göteborgs Stad SDF Askim-Frölunda-Högsbo is the project coordinator of this strategic partnership. This project is financed by the Erasmus+ Programme, KA2 - Strategic Partnership and funded by the Swedish Council for Higher Education project number 2014-1-SE01-KA204-001024.

 

Göteborgs Stad SDF Askim-Frölunda-Högsbo is also a project partner in trms of the action research element of the projct. Göteborgs Stad SDF Askim-Frölunda-Högsbo one district coordination body of the municipal services of Göteborg in Sweden. Göteborg, on Sweden’s west coast, is the second biggest city in the country with half a million inhabitants, serviced by 10 district administration bodies.

 

District administrations work on behalf of the political district councils to provide municipal public services in the areas of pre-school, pre-school activities, social services, support and service to the disabled, primary school, compulsory special school, leisure, library and other cultural activities, local health operations, refugee operations and public health. Some district councils are responsible for the entire city in term of coordination, planning and allocate of housing with special services, short-term activity, employment and daily activities for people with disabilities, to initiate and develop method and skills within the districts activities for people with disabilities, the coordination of palliative care and serve food permission.

 

The Askim-Frölunda-Högsbo district has a great experience from former EU-projects both as in partner and as project owner and coordinator. They have been involved with several projects in the last years. SDN Askim-Frölunda-Högsbo was owner of the EU social funds project "Idé - I Dialog för Egenmakt" (see Sweden “Good Practices”) where women with limited involvement in society had a chance to meet each other and create a social network to increase their participation in society. As this project came to an end, just before the start of the She Empowers project, one of the staff members of this project is participating in She Empowers to further develop this concept and share their experience from the project.
