Iceland  - Rökstólar Samvinnumiðstöð

Project Partner: Rökstólar Samvinnumiðstöð (Centre for Improvement) is a small limited company, based in a rather remote rural area of northern Iceland, Dalvík, and whose diverse areas of expertise include: project coordination and facilitation that strengthen teamwork and cooperation, organisation of various non-formal educational activities carried out locally, nationally or at international level, environmental tourism and sustainability projects. The company concentrates on community development projects with a strong focus on learning and education: they have experience in setting up and carrying out educational activities (international trainings and seminars, educational visits, etc.) for educators and learners in the formal and non-formal sector and in the implementation of European projects on local level.

They operate by the following principles: supporting honest business and cooperation, contributing to environmental protection and the development of individuals as well as communities, respect for nature and supporting sustainability. Rökstólar builds partnerships with other organizations, businesses and local communities through facilitation of   "same-eye-level" encounters and interaction based on meaningful and open communication. They seek authenticity and openness as qualities for learning and development.

By incorporating the above concepts also in their educational work, Rökstólar help individuals find their potential and figure out available resources by themselves, helping them find the solution to their challenges, using experiential learning and non-formal education methods as vital tools.

Lenka Uhrova is the representative of Rökstólar: she has been working as an adult educator since 2004 and has gained extensive knowledge and experience in the field of creating and carrying out educational activities that match the needs of specific target groups, working within the framework of Life Long learning key competences. She works at local, national and also international level. The above goes hand in hand with developing innovative educational methods that Lenka has been working on for the past few years very intensively in order to empower people to use their creativity and potential to the full so that they can contribute to the well-being of their community. Lenka  has worked for several years on behalf of the Czech Republic and Icelandic National Agencies of the Erasmus+ Youth in Action programme.  paragraph. Click here to add your own text and edit me.
