Italy - Work in Progress (WiP)
Project Partner: Work in Progress (WiP) is a non-profit organisation based in Padova, a north east italian city with a high level of industrial development and, by consequence, a high number of immigrants.
WiP aims to give opportunities to young people and adults to improve their key competences, participate in mobility experiences in Europe and contribute to the construction of a society based on the respect of diversity. They specifically focus on including aspects of solidarity, interculturality, differences, european citizenship, volunteering and other subjects into professional training programmes which, they feel, mostly neglect these elements in favour of vocational skills.
They involve consultant trainers who have long-term expertise in the field of education and training through working in the European Youth and Lifelong Learning Programmes since 2005. They already have been very active hosting beneficiaries of the Leonardo da Vinci Programme, participating in Grundtvig and in many activities of the Youth in Action. In these projects, their main areas of interest have been learning to learn, employability and social inclusion.
Giulia Mastropirro is the representative of WiP in the She Empowers project. She, herself, started her own European experience as a volunteer in the European Voluntary Service of the Youth in Action programme more than 10 years ago and is now a regular trainer within this programme as well as in all kinds of non formal education projects and coordinator of local education projects. She has a specific interest in self-directed learning methodologies and is training in psychology and the counselling field. She has been working in the non-formal education field as an adult educator since 2006.
