Partners

Göteborgs Stad SDF Askim-Frölunda-Högsbo, in Sweden, proposed this initiative in response to the call from the Erasmus + Key Action 2 programme for “Cooperation and Innovation for Good Practices” in April 2014.

They made the proposal for the project - which is simply refered to as She Empowers - on behalf of 6 European partner organisations presented below.

With these short descriptions, we aim to show the diversity of experiences and backgrounds each partner organisation brings to the project as well as a brief introduction to their representative who plays, in She Empowers, the role of “country coordinator”.

Basically, the women involved  in the conceptual development of the project are 6 adult educators - representing organisations in different European countries (Belgium, France, Iceland, Italy, Spain and Sweden) – whose common prior experience was their one-year-long involvement in the Youth in Action Salto NA Network long-term training of trainers (TOT) course in 2010-11.

Project Partner: The “European Inclusion Programme (EIP)” is based in Paris and has existed as a non-profit organisation for more than 20 years. EIP works towards redressing injustices in terms of accessibility to opportunity – especially in the fields of non-formal education and training. Through encouraging the European networking of trainers and adult educators, they hope to empower organisations to play a more active and responsive role towards the inclusion of “challenging” groups in society in general – and within European programmes more specifically. They specifically focus on including aspects of solidarity, interculturality, differences, european citizenship, volunteering and other subjects into professional training programmes which, they feel, mostly neglect these elements in favour of vocational skills.
